7.3.1 QnM | Highlight the performance of the institution in an area distinct to its priority and thrust (within a maximum of 200 words): Priority of the institute of late has been research based innovation and promotion of start-ups. The institute has established several Centre of Excellences and incubation eentres to facilitate this purpose. More than 200 student start-ups have been in place within last one year. More than 50 patents have been filed from these labs andincubation centres. Students are encouraged to participate in national and international level hackathons, international conferences, seminars, workshops and other such events.Students have won national level hackathons (SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2022, Hack The Mountain 3.0 etc). Around Rs. 2.5 crore is provided to facultiesand students as seed grant for pursuing innovation based research proposals. More than 400 Scopus indexed publications, more than 10 published patents, more than 100 successfully launched start- ups are the result of these endeavours. Registration fees forparticipating in conferences, work shops are all reimbursed. Travel and accomodation expenses are beared by the institute to encourage students for participating in national and international events. Several model making compititions, hackathons, coding compititions, quizes are organised to inculcate the cultutre of innovation and hands on learning. Right from first year onwards compusory mini projects are given to students and seed money provided for start-ups. All students are provided funds to form companies and have trade licences made.
