Measures initiated by the institution for the promotion of gender equity during the year:

Highlight the curricular and co- and extracurricular activities promoting gender equity and sensitization and the facilities available for women on campus (within a maximum of 200 words).

• IEM is committed to promote gender equality and empower women both financially and emotionally.
• Women are given leadership roles like Registrar, Principal, Deans, Head of the Departments, Placement Cell and ensure equal opportunities.
• IEM is an Co-educational institute and has gender-neutral uniforms.
• Startups initiated by individuals of all genders are encouraged. Heads of all statutory committees are selected on merit, not gender, race, or religion.
• Institute provides counselling services, self-defence classes, and equal opportunities for all students.
• Various training programs and workshops on gender equality are conducted in collaboration with organizations like Rotary Club and Lion’s Club, Innerwheel Club.
• Special events like “Virangana” workshops celebrate occasions like International Women’s Day, emphasizing the significance of education, mental and physical health for girls.
• To ensure safety, IEM has 17 security officers, IEM maintains electronic surveillance with 987 CCTV cameras, and monitors hostel entry and exit timings.
• Self-defence classes are regularly organized, and students are educated during orientation to be respectful and caring towards their female counterparts.
• An Internal Complaints Committee promptly addresses any incidents or harassment complaints, maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Visitors must register their entry, and alumni are encouraged to do the same, ensuring a secure environment for everyone.

• Daily Morning Assembly:

The mission and vision of IEM itself stresses on building good employable citizens of India and above all worthy human beings. There is a compulsory morning assembly for all students where the important achievements are discussed regularly, historical significance of that particular day read out and all latecomers are given academic assignments to make them realise the importance of punctuality.

Students are regularly addressed by Principal and HODs about values, rights, duties and responsibilities of citizens, morals and ethical practices. Values and ethics, Constitution of India, Geography, Economics, Political Science are a part of curriculum included as a part of Essential Studies for Professionals.

• A Code of Conduct document is well circulated.

Community Engagement:

• Visits child care homes, orphanages, and old age homes.
• Organizes donation camps and encourages student participation..

Pet Society:

• Runs a pet society, providing care for 150 stray dogs.
