4.3 IT Infrastructure

IEM has a policy regarding Information Technology, the Institute has an IT policy covering all major areas like Wi-Fi, cyber security, etc. and updated it as per the need or requirement of the institute. Institutions upgrade their infrastructure covering Wi-Fi, cyber security, software upgradation, ERP system, ICT enabled teaching-learning. The formal IT policy has been approved by the academic council and board of governess. The acceptable use of policies is applicable to Employees, Students, Vendors, and Visitors. Usage policy has a hierarchy that is followed systematically. Certain violations of IT policy by any member may even result in disciplinary action against the offender by institution authorities.

The institution provides 3 to 5 % of the annual budget for the upgradation of IT facilities which are audited as per the balance sheet and changes in the system as follows:

1. Provisional budgetary planning is done at the beginning of every financial year for ICT infrastructure and modernization
2. Training programs are conducted for staff and students to familiarize them with the use of computers and various software.
3. The institutional website is maintained and updated regularly by a dedicated committee and website manager through which the student can access information and circulars.
4. Computer systems are upgraded with the latest software once every 2 years. Obsolete computers are duly replaced, and new ones are procured.
5. Number of Wi-Fi routers has also increased with high configuration after previous accreditation and Wi-Fi network facilities were deployed across the campus & hostels. Students and faculty members get maximum benefits to access the internet to do their projects and research works. Internet service is available for both faculty and students on the campus with 2.4 GBPS internet connectivity.
6. Institutes installed CCTV(Total 288 CCTV) across the campus covering all areas of the college and also in the Boys’ and Girls’ hostels for providing better security.
7. Institute recently developed a digital studio with the latest technology multimedia device i.e. sound mixer, video cameras, projectors, etc.
