BEST PRACTICES

BEST PRACTICES – I

 Title of the Practice – Pension plan for all its retired staff and employees.

 Objectives of the Practice:

Institute desires to give lifelong financial support to a retired teaching & non-teaching staff on the basis of the contributions they have made to the Institute in improving education and organizing various student activities.

The Context:

The Institute desires to give lifelong financial support to a few of its retired teaching & non-teaching staff on the basis of the contributions they have made to the Institute in improving education and organizing various student activities like sports, games, art & culture, Marathon, Cyclothon, International Conferences, etc. The teaching & non-teaching staff are expected to attend these programs and encourage the students in participating in these activities.

 The Practice:

A lifelong monthly financial support targeted to be given to 80% of the Institute’s retired members within 3 months of retirement. The amount will vary from Rs. 3000 per month to Rs. 50,000 per month on the basis of contributions made by the retired members of the Institute.

The retirement age for all teaching and non-teaching staff will be as follows: For teaching staff, it is 65 years and for non-teaching staff, it is 60 years. One year extension, at a time, can be given with the approval of the Governing Board.

 A committee composed of Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Director, Principals, Deans, HoDs and teaching & non-teaching members of Gymkhana will decide the eligibility and rate of such financial support to be given to the retired members. The financial support will be provided on the basis of contributions made by the retired members of the Institute This is a target of the Institute Implementation of this will depend on the financial capacity of the Institute.

● Evidence of Success:

Institute has initiated a pension plan for all its retired staff and employees. Already an initial seed fund of Rs. 10crs deposited in a nationalized bank and the process of disbursing funds to the retired employee has already started. The pension scheme is over and above an existing pension policy with LIC of India for all the employees. Being a self finance institute this kind of endeavor is unique.

BEST PRACTICES – II

 Title of the Practice –Study Abroad Program (SAP)

 Objectives of the Practice:

IEM–Study Abroad Programme (SAP) is conducted for a global exposure to students of various disciplines. This programme has been engineered to give an experiential learning platform to the students of IEM Group.

 The Context:

The students will get hands-on experience of gaining knowledge of foreign culture, industry and economic dynamics. It will provide the students with an opportunity to interact with foreign faculty, foreign corporate, foreign certifications and carry out live projects.

● The Practice:

Common workplace skills developed with education abroad are communication, flexibility, and adaptability, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, international exposure, language, and self-awareness, to name a few. The students will get

Special Certification modules delivered by the Industry experts and Leading foreign faculty

 Industry/Lab/University Visits

★ Extensive Live Project Reports

★ Excellent exposure, cross cultural orientation & sensitization on the foreign economies, societies.

  Familiarization with industry dynamics and trends on a global scale

  Remote Foreign Internship and Certification

 Foreign Certificate Course on latest relevant topics

Evidence of Success:

Students participate in an exchange program with one of the many universities across the globe that we have an MoU with. In addition to learning in a new education system, SAP gives students the chance to learn about a new country and immerse themselves in its culture and traditions and interact with foreign faculties, foreign corporates, foreign certifications . The students of first and second year got hands-on experience of gaining knowledge of foreign culture, industry and economic dynamics. They carried out live projects. and returned with a new perspective on culture, language skills, a great education, and a willingness to learn.
