There is a registered Alumni Association that contributes significantly to the development of the institution through financial and/or other support services.

Institute of Engineering & Management Alumni Association, popularly known as “I AM IEM” is a registered body under the societies act and a non-profitable organization. In the USA the organization is registered as IEM Foundation, a non-profitable organization and is headquartered in Washington to look after alumni welfare globally. IEM has one of the strongest connected Alumni bodies who has been keeping in touch with their Alma mater and helping the institute in various ways. With more alumni members of IEM climbing stairs of success in various fields of life, they are setting higher benchmark for the current students to excel and shine through their achievements and hard work.

 

Contribution of the Alumni Association:

  • The alumni association has granted free scholarships(Rs.32,670,000 from 2017 till 2021)  to deserving and needy students and has helped by providing various aids like study material, stationery items, etc. as per the need be.
  • The alumni association of IEM grants funds (Rs.32, 670,000 from 2017 till 2021) to innovative projects to aspiring students and thereby encourages the Research & Development of the institute.
  • The alumni members have volunteered for various alumni (139 from 2017 till 2021) talks thereby encouraging their successors to work harder and achieve greater goals. Current batch students have benefitted a lot in terms of getting guidance regarding the competitive exams and campus placement via these interactions.
  • The Alumni association has also arranged for guidance sessions where alumni members have shared their own journey of studying in IEM and then in other institutions and finally how they are coping with their work culture at their workplace. Students got a first-hand idea about the industry and talked in detail about the various projects that they may get once they join various companies.
  • Interested students also get ideas of how to officially register and get funding for start-ups from Alumni members of IEM who are currently working as successful entrepreneurs.
  • In the pre-pandemic period IEM has arranged for annual alumni meet-ups in Kolkata, Bangalore and USA thereby creating opportunities for greater networking and bonding. Click Here
  • In the pandemic period, IEM has helped those alumni members who had lost their job or were in facing a financial crunch with a one-time contribution of Rs.1,00,000 or $1500: Click Here
