5.1.5. The Institution has a transparent mechanism for timely redressal of student grievances including sexual harassment and ragging cases
Student Grievances Redressal Committee:

1. Implementation of guidelines of statutory/regulatory bodies 

In supersession to Office Order: IEM/OGR/Off. Ord./2020-21/31, dated:11.08.2020 and in accordance to AICTE guidelines, the Student Grievance Redressal Committee is constituted.

2.  Organization wide awareness and undertakings on policies with zero tolerance

The Grievance and Redressal Cell desires to maintain an unprejudiced environment for its stakeholders. It attends to the grievances and complaints registered by anyone with regard to the activities of the Institution, and in particular, those made by students.

  • Provides information about the Cell’s objectives and mode of operation through the website and handbook.
  • Informs students of the process for registering of grievances in the Induction Programs and regular meetings are conducted through google meet platform, physical meetings and also meetings are conducted in hybrid mode.
  • Acknowledges and redresses the grievances in time.
  • Reports the grievances and records how they were redressed.

3. Mechanisms for submission of online/offline students’ grievances

  • The grievances shall be redressed depending on the nature of the grievance.
  • Department level counseling is offered where the matter can be resolved by the class teacher
  • If not resolved at departmental level, then the grievances may be mailed to the HOD, Student Affairs & Alumni Relations, President Students Gymkhana at [email protected]. and Principal IEM at [email protected]
  • As soon as the application is received the Redressal Committee shall review the complaint and invite both the parties for discussion.

4. Timely redressal of the grievances through appropriate committees

All complaints are reviewed and redressed in time. Periodic meetings are conducted to provide a healthy environment for its stakeholders.

Anti-Ragging Committee:

1.   Implementation of guidelines of statutory/regulatory bodies

In supersession to Office Order: IEM/ARC/Off. Ord./2020-21/38, dated:14.08.2020 and in accordance to AICTE guidelines, the Anti Ragging Committee constituted as per (All India Council for Technical Education notified regulation for regulation and prevention of ragging AICTE approved Technical Institutions vide No. 37-3 /Legal/AICTE/2009 date 01.07.2009.

AICTE guidelines for Anti-Ragging mechanism

  • Constitution of Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti Ragging Squad;
  • Setting up of Anti-Ragging Cell;
  • Installing CCTV cameras at vital points;
  • Anti-Ragging Workshops;
  • Updating all Web sites with Nodal Officers complete details etc.;
  •  Regular interaction and counselling with the students;
  • Identification of trouble-triggers;
  • Mention of Anti-Ragging warning in the Institution’s prospectus and information Booklets/
  • Brochures shall be ensured; and
  • Surprise inspection of hostels, student accommodation, canteens, rest cum recreational rooms, toilets, bus-stands and any other measures which would prophet well in preventing/ quelling ragging and any uncalled-for behavior/incident shall be undertaken.
